From a young age my parents were always amused by my ideas/solutions for things, I always thought “outside the box”. As I grew up my parents had the joy of seeing me change creative hobbies like underwear. Every time a new passion came along, I would dramatically declare my love for this new form of expression and state how I had found my calling. My parents, bless them, indulged all my many creative stages. Only years later did I conclude that I am not in love with a particular form of expression, I am simply in love with creating.
I love how this industry allows me to exercise all of my creative talents and I wouldn't dream of doing anything else.
To me, the creative person, who doesn't seem to fit into the mould society creates, is best summed up in this quote by Pearl S. Buck:
“The truly creative mind in any field is no more than this: A human creature born abnormally, inhumanly sensitive. To him... a touch is a blow, a sound is a noise, a misfortune is a tragedy, a joy is an ecstasy, a friend is a lover, a lover is a god, and failure is death. Add to this cruelly delicate organism the overpowering necessity to create, create, create - so that without the creating of music or poetry or books or buildings or something of meaning, his very breath is cut off from him. He must create, must pour out creation. By some strange, unknown, inward urgency he is not really alive unless he is creating.”
Lets create together!
