ABOUT VILIEN
Content creator / content manager / production assistant
Over the past seven years, I have held many different positions, all of which had two things in common: events and content creation. I'm passionate about creating, producing or developing authentic content that can be experienced in different ways through multiple platforms.
My experience:
2011-2014
I worked at Media24 where I developed my writing skills by producing content for lifestyle articles, book reviews, press releases and lifestyle blurbs.
2011
I was appointed as creative producer of Huisgenoot Mooi/YOU Makeovers. I was responsible for organizing the makeover events as well as creating and overseeing content according to a content plan.
2012
I became an editor of spiritual books at NB Publishers. During this time I assisted in sending 48 books to print while also maintaining and managing the online publication list.
2014
I began freelancing offering services in Afrikaans proofreading, Afrikaans editing, writing in both English and Afrikaans, children book translations, general translations, and manuscript evaluations.
2016
While working as Storyteller for TEDxCapeTown I created my very first short film called The Gift as part of a project I managed.
2016 - present
I've continued to freelance; assisting various businesses such as Garden State Productions, Wild Info, and Kukhula-tech market their events by assisting in production, basic social media management, basic community management, and content creation for blogs, newsletters, FB posts, Instagram posts, press releases, and Facebook videos.
Currently, I am looking for new and exciting opportunities in content management and creation specifically.
I am driven by challenges and always seek to cultivate and expand my skills through online courses, articles, and mentors.
