I am quite good at selling everything from banking products to beer to baby food, but when it comes to promoting myself, I believe in under-promising and over-delivering, so here goes...
I've been in advertising for more than 20 years, starting my career at Ogilvy in 1994 with a BA Communications Degree from UJ (then RAU) behind my name. Currently I am in a Creative Director role at Standard Bank, responsible for impactful, engaging, simple, yet creative staff communication.
The most rewarding time of my career was the three years I spent lecturing Copywriting and Digital Writing at AAA School of Advertising. Here my job satisfaction came in the form of the numerous Loerie and Pendoring awards my copywriting students scooped up over the years. Turns out I have a talent for mentoring creative young minds - who knew!
My strength lies in conceptual thinking, but I also have an eye for detail and the patience to flesh out a campaign to the nth degree. I am one of those rare creative creatures who love research and numbers and facts and am not put off by financial jargon and technical lingo.
My passion for measurable creativity ensures that I not only conceptualise and execute great marketing ideas, but that these ideas also yield great results.
I have recently obtained a post-grad qualification in Marketing Management from IMM, covering Advanced Brand Management, Advanced Digital Marketing, Advanced Global Marketing and Advanced Strategic Marketing.
